Highlights of Scientific Accomplishments
2005
- A powerpoint presentation of
sphingolipids and cholesterol [pdf].
2000-2002
- Installation
and commissioning of the X-ray Liquid Surfaces Diffractometer (XLSD) at
the 6ID-B beamline at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory.
- Determination
of the distribution of ions adsorbed to membranes using anomalous An X-ray
liquid surfaces diffractometer (XLSD) has been commissioned successfully
at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab in August 2000, and
has been employed to the study of a variety of single molecular layers at
the air-aqueous interfaces. The
first anomalous reflectivity measurements from bound Ba$^{2+}$ ions to
lipid monolayers, and structural studies of molecular magnets at air-water
interfaces were among the first applications of the XLSD. reflectivity[pdf].
